Here are a few common questions about vape in Malaysia.
What is vaping?
Vaping is a harm reduction alternative to cigarette smoking. It works with a device vaporising the liquid and does not contain tar or combustion involved in smoking cigarette or tobacco products. The device, powered by a battery, heats up the e-liquid itself to create vapour.

Is nicotine, when consumed by vaping, dangerous?
Vaping is considered to be less harmful as it does not contain tar or combust like cigarettes. Studies have recognised vaping as 95% less harmful than smoking. This is supported by various independent studies by public and medical health bodies.
Most e-liquids contain nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerine, and flavourings.
There is no evidence that nicotine is carcinogenic. There is little doubt that cigarette smoking causes cancer, however nicotine is not the culprit. It is the products of combustion which cause cancer in smokers and these are either absent in vape aerosol, or present in amounts far below levels which are known to cause harm to humans. Nicotine replacement is commonly used as a tool to stop cigarette smoking through the use of nicotine patches and gums which are widely used.
